A pair of table lamps similar to Lucy’s LA lamps appear in the moview A Hole in the Head (1959) starring Framk Sinatra and Edward G Robinson. The are seen at either ends of a green sofa. Screen captures below. The neo-classical column lamps in the hollywood regency style have gilt details.
In the above capture from the I Love Lucy episode “Ricky Minds the Baby” Fred Mertz tries to amuse Little Ricky with a squeek toy. The rubber squeek toy is a Mr Squawker The Duck toy made by Rempel of Akron Ohio who also produced Froggy the Gremlin which we looked at in a previous post.

In the I Love Lucy episode “The Sublease” Little Ricky’s play table is among the items Lucy has to store at Fred and Ethel’s apartment. Little Ricky uses a state of the art 1950’s folding metal baby seat – a Cosco Feed-N-Play Table. There are a couple of them on eBay this week. Pictured below is one example. The Rubber squeak toy Ricky finds is a Disney Pinocchio Cleo Rubber Squeak Toy from the Sun Rubber Co.
In the “I Love Lucy” episode The Ricardo’s Change Apartments Ricky discovers a squeeky toy under his seat cushion when he sits on the armchair. Froggy the Gremlin was a well known character on radio and TV during that era. In 1948 the Rempel Company produced a Froggy the Gremlin rubber squeak toy and the one Ricky has looks like the 9 inch version. Little Ricky’s squeak toy is a Froggy the Gremlin rubber squeeze toy made famous by Smilin’ Ed McConnell on the Buster Brown Gang radio show in the 1940’s and the later TV show.
An original Froggy in his box in good condition is a collectors item now and can easily sell for over $500 on eBay.
If you are buying one read the description carefully, the vintage rubber has hardened in some cases. The Froggy the Gremlin toy pictured above is on eBay this week CLICK HERE to view.

Seen on eBay this week is what is claimed to be an I Love Lucy Prop Camera – vintage Spartus Full-Vue Box Camera circa 1949. I don’t know which episode this was used in but according to the description the Brand name was covered with tape for use on set. Click on the picture above to see the full details on eBay.

The “Most famous nursery in the world” was a showcase of the latest in nursery style. TV Viewers could buy the same items in stores and decorate their own nursery with Mother Goose Pin-ups from the Dolly Toy Company
The cute nursery wall pin-up pictures are the 50’s version of today’s wall art stickers, but they have a retro charm that would not be out of place in any modern nursery or kids playroom.
